Brief Description

Baldor Safety Managers oversee safety activities at the Baldor Bronx Facility. These professionals collaborate with Operations, Fresh Cuts, Transportation, Human Resources, Facilities, Sanitation, and Food Safety teams. Under leadership direction, they ensure safety for Baldor personnel at the Bronx location.

This role guarantees that Baldor personnel work in environments meeting safety standards and best practices. Safety Managers implement programs, policies, and procedures to minimize risks, complying with OSHA, ANSI, FDNY, FDA, and other regulations. They respond to injury notifications, unsafe conditions, conduct inspections, and provide safety education and training.

Responsibilities include managing Safety Specialist I, II, & III employees and Safety Team Lead, coordinating with the Sr. Regional Safety Manager, and overseeing safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Master safety concepts and principles.
  • Lead safety team and departmental projects with minimal guidance.
  • Perform complex tasks following established processes.
  • Work independently and lead projects or ongoing activities.
  • Mentor colleagues and handle complex issues, escalating only the most difficult to senior management.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and feedback.
  • Implement safety programs and procedures across the facility.
  • Develop and execute safety policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with leadership, peers, vendors, and staff.
  • Investigate safety incidents and determine causes.
  • Research standards and best practices for application at the facility.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by safety leadership.
Requirements:
  • Deep knowledge of safety principles.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Respectful professional demeanor.
  • Strong warehouse safety understanding.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish/French is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30, OSHA 500-level courses or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Warehouse safety experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of safety experience.
  • Relevant certifications and expertise.
Technology Skills:
  • Microsoft Outlook, Kronos, Exchange, Office Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Lists.
  • Microsoft Teams, management software like Origami preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Night shift in a warehouse/food processing environment.
  • Extended hours, weekends, holidays as needed.
  • Ability to learn to operate powered industrial trucks, perform first aid, and investigate accidents.
  • Stand and walk for long periods in cold environments.
