Shirley Parsons is partnering with an industry-leading client to identify an experienced Site Safety Representative for a large-scale data center construction project. This position will serve as a key on-site safety resource, providing day-to-day field leadership, contractor oversight, and support to project management.
The Site Safety Representative will be responsible for driving safe work practices across the project, identifying and correcting hazards, supporting site safety programs, and working closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands‑on safety leadership and oversight across active construction activities, working closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
- Manage the on‑site safety orientation process, including conducting orientations, coordinating logistics, maintaining documentation, and ensuring personnel complete required training before beginning work.
- Coordinate and administer site safety training, including fall protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), forklift operation, crane safety, and aerial/scissor lift requirements.
- Manage the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) process by reviewing field JHAs, identifying gaps, coaching field leadership, and maintaining required documentation.
- Lead and document weekly toolbox talks and other site safety meetings and training activities.
- Conduct regular field inspections, safety observations, and audits to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain required jobsite safety resources, postings, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), emergency information, first‑aid resources, LOTO materials, inspection records, and other compliance documentation.
- Respond to and provide appropriate notification of injuries, near misses, medical emergencies, and equipment‑related incidents.
- Partner with project and safety leadership to investigate incidents, determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and complete required reporting.
- Maintain applicable OSHA recordkeeping documentation, including the OSHA 300 Log, in accordance with 29 CFR 1904.
- Support fall protection compliance and serve as a Competent Person for Fall Protection when required, including identifying hazards and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented.
- Inspect and document fall protection equipment, including harnesses, SRLs, anchor systems, and horizontal lifelines.
- Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and other materials required by company, client, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Site Safety Representative, Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator, Safety Technician, EHS Specialist, or similar construction safety professional.
- Strong construction safety background with experience supporting active, large-scale construction projects.
- Data center, mission‑critical, commercial, industrial, or other complex construction experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and field safety best practices.
- Experience with contractor and subcontractor safety oversight, field inspections, audits, incident investigations, JHAs, toolbox talks, and safety training.
- Working knowledge of fall protection, LOTO, mobile equipment, and other high-risk construction activities.
- Ability to effectively engage with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and craft personnel in a field-based environment.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Relevant OSHA and industry safety certifications are preferred and may be required based on project needs.
