Absher Construction, based in Bremerton, WA, is seeking a Safety Manager (SSHO) to lead safety implementation on federal construction projects. You will ensure adherence to the Accident Prevention Plan, EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and project safety requirements while collaborating with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and craft teams.

The role requires a strong field presence, deep knowledge of federal safety requirements, and the ability to embed safety into daily operations.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience with at least 3 years on federal or EM 385 governed projects.
• Experience serving as an SSHO or equivalent role on federal construction projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and federal safety compliance requirements.

Aufgaben

• Implement and enforce the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Site Specific Safety Plans.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and all project safety requirements.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and daily safety engagement with field teams.
• Review and coordinate subcontractor safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Maintain required safety documentation, reports, and project safety records.
• Serve as the designated “Competent Person” for applicable safety disciplines.
• Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to integrate safety into daily work planning.
• Identify hazards early and work with teams to mitigate risks before work begins.
• Act as the primary safety liaison between the project team, subcontractors, and the client or governing agency.
