Job summary

Bryan Construction is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to implement and enforce the project Safety and Health Plan on federal construction sites, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and local/state requirements.

The SSHO will lead safety meetings, conduct daily inspections, coordinate with project teams and government representatives, and maintain meticulous safety records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour or equivalent safety training.
• First aid/CPR certification with relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience developing and maintaining safety programs on construction sites.
• Ability to conduct and document safety trainings and toolbox talks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project Safety and Health Plan implementation and enforcement.
• Perform daily site inspections and correct hazards.
• Coordinate with USACE, project management, and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Procure PPE and manage safety equipment for the crew.
• Maintain safety records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct safety trainings and toolbox talks; monitor subcontractor safety performance.
