Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and implement safety programs and ensure compliance with state, federal, and client policies. The role oversees Drive Cam, OSHA/CDL compliance, audits, and the safety training curriculum across divisions.

The position requires 5+ years in transportation safety, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to drive a proactive safety culture; starting salary range is $75,000–$85,000.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of current experience in a related transportation industry.
• 1-year accident/injury free driving experience.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Possess leadership abilities.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Extended transportation experience.
• Experience teaching/instructing or public speaking experience.
• Computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety manuals, programs and policies are current and meet operating division needs.
• Resides as the expert in EPA and OSHA, CDL compliance and regulations.
• Ensures new hires meet minimum general qualifications including background and DMV checks.
• Utilizes safety technology tools, analyzes trend data and develops plans to reduce incidents.
• Oversees Corporate Safety Incentives and programs including Safety Points.
• Maintains a strong Safety Culture across locations and departments.
• Leads safety audits conducted by corporate, client, and state/federal agencies.
• Leads safety instruction including classroom and behind-the-wheel training per specs.
• Reviews accident/incident reporting to identify trends for future training.
