Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety manuals, programs, policies and practices are current and meet the needs of operating divisions.
  • Serve as the expert in EPA and OSHA, CDL compliance and related regulations.
  • Ensure that new hires meet minimum general qualifications including background and DMV checks.
  • Utilize safety technology tools, analyze results and trend data, and develop plans to reduce and prevent safety incidents.
  • Oversee corporate safety incentives and programs, including assignment of Safety Points.
  • Maintain a consistent safety culture across locations, promoting teamwork and individual responsibility.
  • Oversee completion of audits by corporate, client staff, and state/federal regulatory agencies.
  • Lead safety instruction (classroom and behind-the-wheel) per corporate/client specifications, including defensive driving, passenger operations, documentation, and emergency procedures.
  • Review reporting of vehicular, passenger and employee incidents to identify causes and preventive training opportunities.
  • Provide safety expertise in hiring safety department exempt employees.
  • Ensure training materials are up to date and that necessary supplies and inventories are secured.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $94,889.60 per year
