Job summary

Atec, Inc is seeking a Lead Safety professional to drive corporate safety initiatives across sites. The role includes leading audits, trainings, and the respiratory protection program, while ensuring regulatory compliance and accident investigations.

Responsibilities also cover safety committee leadership, PPE programs, and coordination with insurers. Travel to subsidiaries may be required to maintain an effective safety program.

Qualifications

Job description

SUMMARY

Lead Corporate Safety Initiative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete and track machine certifications.

Inspect and perform trainings on safety equipment.

Conduct safety audits.

Assist with implementation of safety program improvements.

Lead respiratory protection program (trainings and scheduling fit testing).

Schedule CPR certification classes.

Schedule and execute safety drills.

Lead Safety Committee.

Lead safety training for new hires.

Enforce safety program.

Ensure safety program is compliant with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines as applicable.

Assist with workplace accident investigations.

Conduct regular safety topic trainings.

Conduct post-accident training.

Lead exposure monitoring and testing.

Conduct and/or schedule OSHA 10/30 trainings.

Track and update site injury information and trends.

Lead improvements based on injury data.

Prepare and submit injury documentation and/or data.

Update and enforce site and corporate safety policies and procedures.

Lead PPE allowance program for site.

Ensure compliance with SWP3, SPCC, and any other environmental regulations and programs.

Ensure chemicals are disposed of properly.

Report to and coordinate with workers compensation insurance provider and broker.

Visit subsidiaries and field as needed to ensure an effective safety program at all sites.

Track and update safety budget for all locations.

Manage safety incentive programs.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversite of safety committee including safety officers.

Directly supervise and train safety employees.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaint and resolving problems.

Monitor personnel to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec AS9100/ISO policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.

Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions

Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.

Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

Cooperate with Auditors.

Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Safety field preferred; or related experience and/or training; or combination.

7+ Years of safety related experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPR Trainer Certification Preferred

OSHA 10/30 Trainer Certification Preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, occasionally reach with hands and arms, stoop/kneel to file, and lift and/or move at least 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
