The role requires OSHA-30, extensive safety-management experience on active sites, and the ability to coordinate safety across multiple trades while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for water treatment plant construction activities.
• Support demolition operations and monitor major concrete construction activities.
• Oversee safety for underground pipe installation and utility work.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard recognition tasks.
• Partner with supervision and subcontractors to address safety concerns and corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure subcontractor safety compliance and maintain project safety documentation.

Safety Manager (Water Treatment Plant Construction Project)

Location: Portsmouth, OH
Duration: 9 Months (Start: ASAP)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Local Pay: $50-$55/hr
Traveler Pay: $47-$49/hr + $125/Day Per Diem
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 50-60 Hours Per Week
Additional Schedule Details: Long-term infrastructure project supporting both new construction and demolition operations within an active water treatment environment.

Project activities include major concrete construction, underground pipe installation, civil infrastructure work, and new influent system construction with work occurring in and around the river.

The Safety Manager will provide field leadership for a growing workforce that currently includes 20-30 self-perform craft employees along with approximately 20 subcontractors supporting multiple active scopes of work.
