About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Manager to support major semiconductor construction operations at TSMC’s Phoenix, Arizona campus.
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with a strong electrical construction background who understands the hazards associated with large-scale electrical installations and complex industrial construction environments.
The Electrical Safety Manager will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture across electrical construction activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements, and working closely with project leadership, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical safety activities across active construction operations.
- Develop, implement, and enforce electrical safety programs, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
- Identify electrical hazards and implement corrective and preventative measures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70, and applicable safety regulations and project requirements.
- Provide guidance on electrical safe work practices, energized work, lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc-flash hazards, grounding, temporary power, and electrical equipment installation.
- Partner with Electrical Superintendents, Project Managers, General Contractors, subcontractors, and field leadership to address safety concerns.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and employee orientations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and develop corrective action plans.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, inspections, and corrective-action records.
- Assist with developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and electrical-specific safety plans.
- Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of safety experience in electrical construction, industrial construction, semiconductor, manufacturing, data center, or similarly complex construction environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction hazards and safe work practices.
- Experience working directly with electrical contractors, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E.
- Experience with energized electrical work, LOTO, arc-flash safety, grounding, temporary power, and electrical equipment.
- Ability to conduct jobsite inspections and effectively identify and mitigate hazards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with craft personnel, field supervision, project management, and client representatives.
- Experience working on large-scale, complex construction projects is strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training preferred.
- CHST, CSP, CUSP, or other recognized safety certification is a plus.
- Electrical construction experience is highly preferred.
