Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Safety and Environmental Compliance professional to develop and maintain a comprehensive safety program for a manufacturing plant in Northern Iowa, with relocation assistance available.

You will lead hazard analyses, create and deliver training, and oversee incident prevention and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety and Health or related field, 3–5 years in safety management, and solid knowledge of OSHA,

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local safety and environmental requirements.

• Implement accident prevention and injury prevention processes and procedures.
• Maintain a comprehensive safety program, appropriate for a manufacturing plant, including emergency preparedness.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain employee injury records.

Job description

Working closely with plant supervisors, human resources, and corporate leadership, will develop and maintain a comprehensive Safety and Environmental Compliance program. You will be responsible for reducing plant accidents, overseeing the standardization of safety practices, and managing corrective action.

This job is in Northern Iowa, about an hour from Waterloo IA. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years’ experience working in a safety management position in a manufacturing environment.
• Should have broad knowledge about OSHA, EPA, and state and local safety and environmental requirements.
• Should know about metal forming and shaping machinery, with an understanding of machine guarding, electrical safety, and lock-out/tag-out.
