Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a Lebanon, IN data center site. This contract role involves hands-on safety oversight during land preparation, mass excavation, trenching, grading, and heavy civil work.

You will work closely with operators and supervision to identify hazards and enforce OSHA standards. The ideal candidate has BCSP certifications (CHST/CSP/ASP/SMP) and OSHA 30, plus 5+ years of field safety experience in complex construction environments.

Qualifications

• BCSP safety credentials: CHST, CSP, ASP or SMP required.
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety activities for site development and land preparation operations.
• Maintain a highly visible field presence throughout active construction areas.
• Monitor mass excavation, trenching, grading, and earthmoving activities.
• Provide safety oversight for heavy equipment and mobile equipment operations.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessments.
• Verify excavation protective systems, access/egress, spoil placement, and site conditions.
• Monitor underground utility and trenching activities.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Coordinate safety activities with project supervision, equipment operators, and craft personnel.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement timely corrective actions.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.

Construction Safety Manager

Location: Lebanon, IN

Duration: 1-2 Years (Start: 8/17)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $56/hr

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 8-10 Hour Days

Sundays as Project Needs Require
