Join an electrical contractor supporting the new construction of a large-scale data center in Wheatfield, IN. This is a long-term opportunity for a field-focused safety professional to provide hands-on safety oversight throughout multiple phases of electrical construction.
The Field Construction Safety Manager will work directly with electricians, field supervision, and project leadership to identify hazards, maintain OSHA compliance, and ensure electrical construction activities are performed safely throughout the project.
Required Qualifications
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification
- Minimum 5 Years Of Construction Safety Experience
- Strong field safety and hazard recognition experience
- Experience conducting construction safety inspections, audits, and observations
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical construction safety experience
- NFPA 70E knowledge or certification
- Data center or mission-critical construction experience
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience
- Experience supporting electrical energization and commissioning activities
- CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction operations
- Maintain a strong and highly visible presence throughout the jobsite
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
- Work directly with electricians, foremen, and field supervision to identify and correct unsafe conditions
- Monitor electrical installation activities and evolving electrical hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
- Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities
- Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
- Support safe execution of elevated work, aerial lift, material handling, and electrical installation activities
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
- Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
- Coordinate safety concerns and corrective actions with project leadership
- Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
