Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Field Construction Safety Manager to oversee electrical construction safety on a long-term Wheatfield, IN project. You will work closely with electricians, foremen, and project leadership to identify hazards and maintain OSHA compliance.

This 2-year, 1099 contracting role offers weekly pay at $56/hr, a $150/month completion bonus, and a hands-on field focus with strong safety coaching across phases of data center construction.

Qualifications

• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 required.
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Strong field safety and hazard recognition experience.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits and observations.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction operations.
• Maintain a strong field presence throughout the jobsite.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits and hazard assessments.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions with electricians and foremen.
• Monitor electrical installation activities and evolving hazards.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and project safety requirements.
• Support lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control activities.
• Oversee temporary power and safe electrical work practices.
• Review JHAs, permits and pre-task plans.
• Support safe execution of elevated work and MEWPs.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety docs and compliance reports.
• Coordinate safety actions with project leadership.
• Provide field coaching to craft personnel and promote safety culture.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction operations
• Maintain a strong and highly visible presence throughout the jobsite
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
• Work directly with electricians, foremen, and field supervision to identify and correct unsafe conditions
• Monitor electrical installation activities and evolving electrical hazards
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities
• Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
• Support safe execution of elevated work, aerial lift, material handling, and electrical installation activities
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
• Coordinate safety concerns and corrective actions with project leadership
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project

Salary: $56 per hour
