Job summary

Cheney Brothers seeks a qualified Environmental, Fleet Safety and Occupational Health professional to develop, implement and administer safety programs ensuring legal compliance and a safe working environment. This role includes facility security and disaster preparedness, and managing related claims.

The position requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5–7 years of experience, and 6–12 months of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
• 5 - 7 years related experience.
• 6 months - 1 year supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safety programs within budgetary guidelines and conduct safety training as necessary.
• Decrease lost days from work and OSHA recordable incidents.
• Develop interpersonal relationships to encourage openness, candor and trust internally and externally.
• Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public, customers, vendors and coworkers.
• Improve safety policies and procedures and monitor programs.

Position Purpose:

Responsible for developing, implementing and/or administering environmental, fleet safety and occupational health and safety programs to ensure applicable legal compliance and create and maintain a safe and secure working environment. Also responsible for facility security and disaster preparedness planning and effective management of claims (e.g., property and casualty - workers' compensation, auto liability and physical damage, and products/general liability). Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Deliver safety programs within budgetary guidelines. Conduct safety training, as necessary.
• Decrease 'lost days from work' and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) recordable incidents.
• Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and perform job duties to effectively meet those needs.
• Develop interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally.
• Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers/vendors and coworkers.
• Improve safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor safety programs and implement changes necessary to ensure the health and safety of our associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field
• 5 - 7 years related experience
• 6 months - 1 year supervisory or management experience

Preferred qualifications:

• Occupational safety and health management or related area.
• Occupational safety and health management or related area within foodservice industry
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• ARM - Certification in Risk Management
