Job summary

southern recruiting solutions, inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the site’s Safety, Health, Security, and Emergency Response programs. You will champion Safety Principles, Process Safety and Life Saving Rules while partnering with operations to reduce risk.

You will develop and implement safety policies, conduct hazard assessments, lead incident investigations, and drive KPI reporting to leadership. Relocation is provided for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline is required.
• 5+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, process safety management, industrial hygiene, emergency response, and hazardous materials management.

Job description

Responsibilities

• The Safety Manager will champion the company's 20 Safety Principles, Process Safety, Behavioral Safety, and Life Saving Rules.
• Lead the site's Safety, Health, Security, and Emergency Response programs across all operating areas.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and corporate safety requirements.
• Partner with operations leadership to conduct process and behavioral hazard assessments and implement risk reduction strategies.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
• Analyze safety performance metrics, identify trends, develop reports, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Coordinate all required safety, emergency response, and regulatory training for employees and contractors.
• Develop and conduct emergency response drills, skill development exercises, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Oversee fire protection systems, breathing air systems, emergency response equipment, and related inspection programs.
• Relocation provided. $125K-$150K.

Qualifications

• The Safety Manager will have a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive safety leadership experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, or other OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, process safety management, industrial hygiene, emergency response, hazardous materials management, ergonomics, workers' compensation, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Experience developing and implementing site-wide safety management systems and emergency response programs.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment techniques, behavioral safety, and hazard recognition.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze safety data, develop KPIs, prepare presentations, and communicate effectively with hourly employees through executive leadership.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
