Job summary

southern recruiting solutions, inc. seeks a seasoned Safety Manager for our Chicago-area manufacturing site. You will design, implement, and maintain health and safety policies aligned with OSHA standards, and lead training for managers and workers. You will conduct audits, coordinate EHS initiatives, and drive RCA to prevent incidents.

Relocation provided. Salary range $125K-$160K. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Health and Safety or related field, 10+ years' experience in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in a health and safety role within a manufacturing environment.
• CSP designation preferred.
• In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial chemical processes.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that comply with company, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Develop and execute training programs for managers and employees, focusing on workplace safety practices, fire prevention, and safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Ensure the site adheres to all OSHA regulations, including meticulous recordkeeping and safety audits.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and coordinate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training and communication initiatives.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential EHS risks, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on the implementation of these measures.
• Spearhead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents, injuries, and near misses, driving actionable improvements to prevent future occurrences.

Requirements

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial chemical processes.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
