Job summary

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of construction safety leadership experience.
  • OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications required or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering safety training to field personnel.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

Job description

A leading mechanical construction and service organization is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across large-scale commercial and industrial projects. This field-facing leadership role will help ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen safe work practices, and foster a proactive culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is an influential trainer, mentor, and coach with extensive construction safety knowledge and experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related mechanical operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the implementation and administration of project and company safety programs.
  • Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Identify risks and partner with project teams to implement effective controls.
  • Develop and deliver safety training for field employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and oversee corrective actions.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, regulatory records, and reports.l

What You’ll Bring
  • At least five years of construction safety leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting mechanical construction involving HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related building systems.
  • Experience in heavy commercial or industrial construction environments.
  • Current OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering safety training.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Strong communication, coaching, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence safety performance at every level of an organization.
  • Proficiency with safety documentation and reporting systems.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable screening and site-access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • CHST, CSP, ASP, or a comparable professional safety certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects.

This role operates in both office and active construction environments. Regular jobsite visits may involve construction equipment, elevated work areas, changing weather conditions, and physically demanding surroundings. Frequent walking, climbing, standing, and site inspections are required.

The position generally follows standard business hours, with flexibility needed to support project schedules, safety initiatives, and emergency response activities.
