Job summary

Corning is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to promote a safe, compliant environment across a manufacturing facility in Newton, NC. You will develop and implement EHS policies, manage SDS and training for new materials, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate regulations.

Ideal candidates have a technical bachelor’s degree and demonstrated experience in manufacturing safety, with a focus on continuous process improvement and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering or EHS).
• Relevant experience in a safety role within manufacturing or distribution.
• Track record of improving processes and working in teams.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe and environmentally compliant work environment across the facility.
• Develop and implement corporate EHS policies, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain SDS system and ensure training for new materials and products.
• Assess and address new chemical safety and environmental requirements prior to onsite use.
• Lead EHS training programs and maintain records; respond to EH&S emergencies.
