Job summary

Corning Incorporated in North Carolina is seeking a Safety Engineer to join our Environmental Health & Safety team. You will design, implement, and sustain workplace safety programs aligned with OSHA regulations, ISO standards, and Corning's EH&S requirements.

You will partner with site leadership to build a strong safety culture, conduct risk assessments, investigations, and training, and drive continuous improvement across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field is required.
• 2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with safety programs including fall protection, confined space, machine guarding, powered industrial vehicles, crane/hoist, ergonomics, electrical safety.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations and safety training.
• Knowledge of behavioral-based safety or human organizational performance programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EH&S action plans and procedures aligned with OSHA/ISO standards.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
• Design and facilitate EH&S training programs and track KPIs.
• Maintain Emergency Response Plan and oversee contractor safety compliance.
• Communicate EH&S findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate across functions to implement safety programs.
• Diagnose root causes of safety gaps and drive timely actions.
• Manage multiple safety priorities with minimal supervision.
