Job summary

VNSFS is seeking a Safety Manager to drive a proactive safety culture across field operations and projects in California. You will lead safety teams, coach employees, and partner with operations to meet project objectives while advancing safety programs.

The role focuses on leveraging AI, digital workflows, and safety technologies to improve performance, streamline processes, and reduce risk in nuclear cleanup and environmental restoration projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive safety experience in construction, remediation, D&D or nuclear operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard recognition.
• Experience with field assessments and risk evaluations.
• Desirable certifications such as CSP, CHST, OHST, CIH, CHMM.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain a pro-active, high-performance safety culture across field operations and project teams.
• Coach, mentor and develop employees at all levels in safety best practices.
• Leverage AI, mobile apps, digital workflows and safety technologies to improve performance and simplify the employee experience.
• Use data and leading indicators to identify risk and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct audits, assessments, field observations and high-risk activity reviews.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions with organizational learning.
