Ahlstrom's De Pere, Wisconsin plant is seeking a Safety Intern for Summer 2027. This hands-on internship supports the Health, Safety and Environmental team with real-world safety practices in a manufacturing setting, including hazard identification, audits, and employee engagement.

The role offers exposure to safety processes, inspections, investigations, and documentation, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects within a global materials company.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Enrolled in an Occupational Health, Safety or related degree program.
• Willing to relocate to De Pere, WI for Summer 2027 (June–August).
• Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies to meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for each grade of paper.
• Assist with safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Support incident investigations and help identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Help maintain and update safety documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Assist in the development of safety communications.
