Job summary

East Penn Manufacturing Company is seeking a Safety Intern to support the Health and Safety team in a manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience through safety audits, hazard analysis, and documentation of lockout/tagout processes while collaborating with safety professionals across departments.

The internship emphasizes safety management systems, data reporting, and practical project work.

Qualifications

Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in safety or related field.
Sophomore standing or higher preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Assist with safety audits and inspections.
Conduct job hazard analysis.
Create and update lockout / tagout (LOTO) documentation.
Assist with data analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with safety, industrial hygiene, medical, engineering and manufacturing personnel on project-based initiatives.
Assist with administrative tasks and file management.
