Job summary

3M is seeking an Undergraduate Sales Intern for Summer 2027 in the Safety & Industrial Business Group. The role offers hands-on, customer-facing experience and training within a global team.

Interns typically work full-time for 10–12 weeks and may contribute to projects supporting 3M and its partners. Eligible students gain exposure to sales planning, channel collaboration, and business growth strategies while rotating through cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid Driver’s License (required for Field Sales positions, as you will be issued a company vehicle for Field Sales positions.)
• Demonstrated interest in B2B sales, account management, business development, customer engagement, or industrial/safety markets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, ask thoughtful questions, and present information clearly.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to review sales data, customer information, market trends, and business performance to identify opportunities.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong interest in learning how to support customer needs and contribute to sales growth.
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, marketing, product, operations, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and strengthen business relationships to understand customer needs, identify challenges, and uncover growth opportunities.
• Develop a foundational understanding of 3M SIBG product lines, customer segments, competitive products, pricing considerations, and sales policies.
• Recommend 3M Safety and Industrial solutions that align with customer applications, business goals, and market opportunities.
• Support sales growth through account planning, pipeline development, customer follow‑up, distributor engagement, and sales campaign execution.
• Collaborate with experienced sales professionals and cross-functional teams while participating in training, coaching, and exposure to senior leadership.
• Contribute to meaningful projects that address real business challenges and create value for 3M, customers, and channel partners.
