Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Safety & Health Coordinator to administer a comprehensive safety management program for electrical industrial construction and maintenance.

You will work with the Manager of Safety & Health, Project Managers, Superintendents and craft personnel to promote safe work practices and ensure safe conditions. Responsibilities include safety orientations, onsite meetings, incident investigations, audits, recordkeeping, and reporting, with a focus on continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, construction mgmt or related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience working with IBEW union craft personnel is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation.
• Coordinate on-site safety meetings and conduct safety training.
• Support incident investigation efforts.
• Conduct and document on-site safety audits and provide safety technical support.
• Recordkeeping and reporting of safety metrics.
• Promote proactive safety activities and correct unsafe conditions.
• Integrate safety into project plans and monitor safety goals.
• Coach supervisors and employees on safety best practices.
• Provide feedback to encourage learning and awareness.
• Set priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement.

About this Role – Safety & Health Coordinator

We are looking for a talented Safety & Health Coordinator who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for electrical industrial construction and maintenance.The Safety & Health Coordinator will work closely with the Manager of Safety & Health, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must
• Due to the nature of this position, extensive travel is required
• Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5-10 years of construction safety experience
