Job summary

Donaldson invites eligible undergraduates to join a summer internship at our Bloomington, MN headquarters for a 10–12 week program, working onsite to support occupational safety and environmental health projects. You will engage with EHS professionals, gain real-world experience, and contribute to a global corporation.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in an accredited degree program in safety-related fields, proficient with MS Office, and prepared to work on-site at the Bloomington facility.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program pursuing a bachelor's degree in a closely related field (e.g., Industrial Organizational Psychology, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, EHS, Environmental Science, Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects in occupational safety or health, or environmental aspects, including risk assessment tools for exposure to health and safety hazards or environmental aspects.
• Conduct data activities and process work to demonstrate compliance with the site’s environmental regulatory requirements.
• Process data related to environmental, health and safety events (injuries, fires, spills, near miss incidents, inspections).
• Participate in the site’s annual EHS self‑assessment to assess regulatory compliance.
• May conduct employee training as outlined on the EHS Compliance Calendar or other tasks.

We provide challenging, professional experience with a global corporation, where you learn from and work alongside Donaldson employees. Internships take place at our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN, over a 10–12 week period. Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Bloomington, MN facility.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist with projects in occupational safety or health, or environmental aspects, which may include (EHS) risk assessment tools to identify exposures to health and safety hazards or environmental aspects that can result in harm to people, property, or the environment;
• Conduct data activities and process work required to demonstrate compliance with the site’s environmental regulatory requirements;
• Process data related to environmental, health and safety events such as injuries, fires, spills, near miss incidents and internal inspections;
• May participate in the site’s annual EHS self‑assessment to assess compliance with applicable regulatory and company standards;
• May conduct employee training as outlined on the site’s EHS Compliance Calendar documentation or other tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program pursuing a bachelor's degree in: Industrial Organizational Psychology, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, EHS, Environmental Science, Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics or a closely related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA
• Current undergraduate junior/3rd year (rising senior)
• Energetic self‑starter who seeks innovative solutions
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong prioritization and problem‑solving abilities
• Prior internship, work experience or collegiate project work in occupational health and safety

Relocation

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Hourly Pay Rate

$20.00 - 28.00, depending on projected undergraduate graduation date, educational degree in progress and major of study upon time of hire.

This position is overtime eligible as per state and federal regulations.
