Job summary

Pronto AI is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to build and maintain the off-road truck safety case for autonomous haulage systems. You will structure hazard analyses, define testing and commissioning readiness, and drive evidence-based requirements across site operations.

You will lead a small team of engineers, manage incidents and change assessments, and ensure rigorous safety determinations using site evidence. This is a hands-on, production-focused role in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems safety, safety engineering or a closely related systems discipline in a safety-critical domain.
• Structured hazard analysis depth at both the system and the operational level.
• Experience building and defending safety arguments and writing safety cases.

Responsibilities

• Build the off-road truck safety case: claims, evidence, limits, and open items.
• Drive results into requirements and site controls.
• Define test readiness, acceptance criteria, and evidence for autonomous operation.
• Lead a small team of engineers and coordinate investigations.
• Manage change assessments for software releases and site layout changes.
