Job summary

Yoh Staffing's client in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Safety Engineer (ONSITE) for a contract role. The position requires spending significant time in the fab, enforcing safety standards, and guiding high-risk tasks to prevent incidents.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
• Ability to spend up to 6+ hours daily in a cleanroom and wear a cleanroom suit.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to OSHA, tsmc, and safety requirements across all fab employees.
• Identify hazards, verify controls, and intervene to correct unsafe conditions in real time.
• Maintain a strong field presence and embed safety into daily operations.
• Support safe work planning and execution through direct employee engagement.
• Spend a minimum of 4 hours per day in the fab and participate in morning pass-downs with engineering teams.
• Audit workers, areas, and storage for 6S compliance.
• Identify hazards and assist with immediate corrective actions.
• Provide real-time guidance to employees and subcontractors.
• Oversee high-risk tasks to prevent incidents.
• Review and sign off on daily inspection forms.
• Confirm permits, PPE, and controls before work starts.
• Intervene and stop work when unsafe conditions arise.
• Document audit results in the inspection platform.
• Communicate issues and unresolved violations to the Safety Engineer or Manager.

Job description

Safety Engineer (ONSITE) needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Staffing's client working in Phoenix, AZ.

• Pay Rate: $32-38/hr
• ONSITE

What You'll Be Doing:

• Safety Compliance?: Ensure adherence to OSHA, tsmc, and company safety requirements by communicating expectations and enforcing standards across all employees working in the fab.?
• Hazard Identification and Intervention?: Proactively identify hazards, verify controls, and intervene to correct unsafe conditions and behaviors in real-time to prevent incidents.?
• "Boots-on-the-Ground" Safety?: Maintain a strong field presence as visible safety leaders, embedding safety into daily operations.
• Work Execution Support: Support safe work planning and execution through direct employee engagement.
• Maintain a strong field presence (required to spend a minimum of 4 hours per day in the fab)
• Participate in morning pass-downs with the engineering teams to understand work activities for the day and reinforce important safety messaging.?
• Audit all workers, work areas, and laydown/storage areas for 6S compliance.
• Actively identify hazards and assist with the implementation of immediate corrective actions.
• Provide real-time guidance to employees and subcontractors.
• Provide oversight during high-risk work tasks to prevent incidents.
• Review and sign off on daily inspection forms.
• Confirm required permits, PPE, and controls are implemented prior to the start of work.
• Intervene and stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
• Document audit results into the inspection platform.
• Communicate issues and violations with the Safety Engineer or Manager that cannot be resolved otherwise.

Required:

• 5 years of industrial, construction, or manufacturing experience
• OSHA 30-Hour for Construction or General Industry (must provide proof)
• Ability to identify hazards and assist with implementation of corrective actions
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to spend up to 6+ hours a day in the cleanroom, comfortable wearing a cleanroom suit, and spending majority of their day on their feet / walking.
