Job summary

NPAworldwide in Martinez, CA is seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to lead incident investigations and personal safety evaluations at our facility. Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will drive program improvements and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will analyze safety data, develop KPIs, and deliver training for site employees and contractors while partnering with an Industrial Hygienist to mitigate health risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a closely related field.
• 5-10 years of relevant field safety experience in industrial or processing facilities.
• Experience in petroleum refining or chemical manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of safety programs, including permit-required confined spaces and hot work.
• Experience with ABS Causal Analysis and TOP methods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead site incident and near-miss investigations as primary focal point.
• Develop, track, and drive root-cause preventative and corrective actions.
• Oversee permit-to-work, energy isolation, hot work, and confined spaces programs.
• Provide field coaching, audits, and oversight during turnarounds and outages.
• Create KPI dashboards and training materials for employees and contractors.
