Job summary

PBF Energy Inc. at the Martinez Refinery in California is seeking a Safety Engineer to lead incident investigations and support personal safety evaluations for employees, contractors, and the community during turnarounds and daily operations.

The role requires field presence, strong Excel/Databases skills, and the ability to influence site leadership to address safety weaknesses. A Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field and 5–10 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident investigations and be the site focal point for investigations.
• Develop and improve site safety programs and training materials for employees and contractors.
• Audit implementation of safety programs and participate in safety committees.
• Provide consultation to line organizations on incident investigation processes and safety metrics.
• Collaborate with IH to resolve health issues and implement preventive actions.
