M. A. Mortenson Company, located in Lincoln, NE, is seeking a Safety Engineer responsible for implementing the Zero Injury Safety program at construction sites. The ideal candidate will manage safety training, track safety violations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
This position is open to both Safety Engineer I and II levels based on qualifications, with competitive pay ranging from $78,800 to $110,400, alongside comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and 401k plans.
Mortenson is currently seeking a Safety Engineer that will be responsible for implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.
This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

The base pay range for this role is $78,800 Min - $98,500 Max
Minimum Qualifications: One year of related experience
The base pay range for this role is $81,800 Min - $110,400 Max
Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
