Job summary

Essity North America Inc. is seeking a Safety Leader for our Bowling Green, KY manufacturing facility. The leader will guide safety and environmental policies, advance the site's EHS management system, and work with the Safety Specialist to meet legal requirements.

The role includes developing a site safety masterplan aligned with corporate goals, driving ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance, and identifying cost-saving safety initiatives while leading the safety team and reporting monthly results.

Qualifications

• University degree in relevant field.
• 3+ years experience working at a production site.
• 2+ years experience in EHS management (preferred).
• Experience with safety and environmental systems.
• ISO system implementation updates and new standards knowledge.
• Root cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of auditing processes (certification preferred).
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to read SDS sheets and approve chemicals.
• Experience developing and managing departmental budgets.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.
• ISO 14000/ISO 45001 knowledge.
• LOTO, machine safety, regulatory risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and role model safety and environmental policies as department head.
• Develop and monitor the safety department master plan and annual goals.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety systems and culture.
• Ensure ISO 14001/ISO 45001 compliance and reporting.
• Prepare and manage department budgets; serve on site leadership team.
• Coordinate safety cost‑saving initiatives and safety network participation.
