Job summary

Safety Management Group in Lebanon, IN is seeking a Safety Director to lead safety oversight for a mega construction project. The role focuses on managing safety teams, ensuring program ownership, and aligning safety practices with client requirements.

The position emphasizes field leadership, collaboration with clients and contractors, and the execution of safety plans across local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing teams and overseeing program ownership.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course.

Responsibilities

• Manage teams/departments, oversight of program execution, and program ownership.
• Support project leadership with safety on a mega construction project.
• Partner with the project team to support proper execution of all local/state/federal safety requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between the client and contractors, fulfilling operating procedures and safety policies.
• Partner with the project team and all trade partners to build and maintain a safety culture aligned with the client's vision.
• Conduct safety observations and establish corrective actions for unsafe conditions or practices identified during field visits.
• Keep stakeholders informed of the safety performance of the contractors working on the project.
• Facilitates Incident Reporting Procedures.
• Provide safety boots-on-the-ground resources for the client to ensure program execution.
• Provide coaching to contractors when gaps are identified and communicate safety expectations.
• Influence the proper execution of safety plans and participate in event investigations.
