Role Summary

The AFG Safety Director will provide leadership on safety and health matters for the region or assigned group, supporting national safety goals. Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, providing reports, and leading safety training, all aligned with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support multiple verticals including Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial/Manufacturing nationally.
  • Implement and manage environmental, health, and safety programs, periodically calibrating to meet organizational goals.
  • Measure safety metrics and provide analytics using internal tools.
  • Support Worker's Compensation claims, working with Risk and Insurance teams.
  • Provide analytical information on safety and workers' compensation issues to regional executives and internal/external customers.
  • Lead the Drug and Alcohol program per company policies.
  • Attend meetings to discuss safety matters and propose solutions.
  • Design and conduct safety training for regional safety teams.
  • Lead investigations on serious safety incidents within the region.
  • Collaborate with safety professionals nationwide to monitor trends and recommend actions.
  • Work with marketing on safety-related presentations and activities.
  • Manage prequalification platforms like ISNET and Construct Secure, providing input with client solutions teams.
  • Contribute to company communications through publications.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring implementation of non-discrimination policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Accurate and timely work performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and testing protocols.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Team management and relationship-building skills.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Over 10 years of construction safety experience.
  • At least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of budgeting or financial management experience.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work at heights.
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours.
  • Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
