JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and provides input during subcontractor selection.
  • Assists in developing sequencing requirements of systems and providing solutions to meet schedules.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met, and work is completed timely and in quality.
  • Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assists with the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.
  • Supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy and ensuring its implementation.
Additional Core Responsibilities
  • Performs increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Develops budget estimates, reviews options, recommends systems, and suggests value engineering.
  • Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Reviews design documents for quality issues and helps develop quality control programs.
  • Conducts job inspections and develops testing procedures.
  • Prepares and verifies commissioning documentation and plans.
  • Mentors less experienced team members and develops innovative solutions for process improvement.
  • Continues to promote diversity and inclusion policies within the organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Accurate and timely work performance.
  • Intermediate communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
  • Understanding of construction management methods.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience preferred.
