JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Assists in developing sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
  • Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assists with commissioning, including developing checklists and testing procedures.
  • Supports a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will:

  • Complete more complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Develop budget estimates, review options, and recommend systems.
  • Coordinate scopes during bidding and develop sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Review design documents for quality issues and develop quality control programs.
  • Perform job inspections and develop testing procedures.
  • Review and approve shop drawings.
  • Generate and issue the Commissioning Plan.
  • Verify deficiencies and complete documentation.
  • Mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Create tools and solutions for process improvement.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop proficiency in JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license required.
