JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead all aspects of the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment, investigating safety incidents, and retraining staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or parts of larger projects.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage the care, custody, and control of the project site.
  • Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project progress and OAC meetings.
  • Create and adjust project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Track and monitor project budget and costs using project management systems.
  • Communicate key project information to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and update drawings, logs, and notebooks.
  • Approve and record unit costs, complete daily and tracking reports.
  • Evaluate progress on self-perform work and make adjustments.
  • Manage material and equipment needs.
  • Support procurement and approval processes.
  • Assist in selecting tools and equipment for self-perform operations.
  • Manage timecard approval to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure quality compliance through specifications and QA/QC processes.
  • Support project closeouts and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Understand project pursuit processes and methodology.
  • Participate in project pre-planning and implement adjustments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish field staffing in partnership with field leadership.
  • Identify and manage schedule and cost changes.
  • Participate in negotiations with owners and architects.
  • Prepare and present in project review meetings.
  • Participate in subcontractor and vendor buyout meetings.
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions.
  • Identify and recruit top talent.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring non-discrimination policies are followed.
Additional Responsibilities - Superintendent 2
  • Manage complex standalone projects from start to finish.
  • Handle management, scheduling, safety, and quality for assigned projects or portions.
  • Manage project risks actively.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Manage deliverables from internal resources.
  • Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of construction management fundamentals, project processes, and trades.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of construction experience and 3+ years of field supervision.
  • Experience with Lean principles is a plus.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, travel, and work non-traditional hours.
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
