Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH Company, is seeking a Safety Manager to partner with the Division Safety Manager to cultivate a robust safety culture across field operations. You will provide technical and compliance guidance to ensure safe work practices and regulatory adherence at multiple sites.

You will lead inspections, incident reporting, and investigations, and coach leaders on safety policies while coordinating trainings and collaborating with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field with 3–5 years in safety management; construction materials industry requested.
• OSHA and MSHA training certifications preferred.
• Ability to read English and perform basic mathematical calculations; strong reasoning to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Division Safety Manager to establish and develop a culture of safety.
• Provide technical and compliance guidance to field employees on safe work habits.
• Enforce safety policies by inspecting sites, reporting statistics, and counseling managers and employees.
• Ensure timely reporting of all safety incidents according to CRH standards.
• Conduct accident investigations and determine actions to eliminate causes; follow up on actions.
• Carry out inspections and industrial hygiene audits for assigned locations.
• Act as a consultant to executives, managers, supervisors, and hourly employees on safety matters.
• Coordinate trainings for managers and employees; facilitate trainings as needed.
• Support insurance loss control and safety consulting to improve safety processes.
• Work with OSHA, MSHA, DOT and other agencies during site inspections.
• Create clear reports using Microsoft applications and company systems.
• Maintain the Drug-Free Workplace Program post-accident processes.
• Maintain professional knowledge via workshops, publications and professional networks.
