Job summary

Antares is hiring a Harness Design Engineer to own the end-to-end harness layer—from wire and connector selection to 3D modeling and release to manufacturing. You will manage the toolchain, BOM, supplier relationships, and in-house builds for safety-class applications across testbeds and distribution cabinets.

The role requires leading design reviews, ensuring design records and traceability, and aligning with QA/PLM processes while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years designing production wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Experience with harness CAD tools such as Zuken E3.series, Siemens Capital, Mentor VeSys, SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA Electrical, or Rapid Harness.
• Demonstrated knowledge of harness workmanship and testing practices.
• Experience releasing hardware under formal quality programs and handling revisions.
• Experience directing technicians or build teams and working on the shop floor.
• Direct experience with external harness or electrical panel suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Own harness CAD design: route, bundle, and constrain harnesses in the 3D model.
• Own harness schematics: develop wiring diagrams and pinout tables.
• Own component selection: wire type/gauge, connectors, and crimp tooling.
• Design to safety-class requirements and maintain traceability.
• Own the harness design review and release process within QA/PLM.
• Be the responsible engineer for harness design software and licensing.
• Support supplier selection, qualification, and RFQ packages.
• Own build packages and supplier technical communication.
• Own the harness BOM and material readiness; ensure on-site delivery.
• Manage in-house harness builds and shop-floor supervision.
