Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a proactive Safety Coordinator based in Mississippi to support safety initiatives across project and service operations, with responsibilities in Greenwood and Horn Lake, and occasional travel to the Memphis area. You will work with local and corporate safety teams to ensure regulatory compliance, deliver training, and foster a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in construction, industrial, or service environments.
• 5 years in a dedicated safety role (minimum 3 years in construction/heavy service).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital safety management systems and AI.
• Safety-related education (degree, certification, or relevant coursework).

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce safety programs across all job sites.
• Deliver new hire orientation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
• Coordinate safety training for employees, temporary staff, and subcontractors.
• Prepare toolbox talks and safety meeting materials.
• Maintain PPE in office and support field operations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Document incidents, corrective actions, and safety measures.
• Collaborate with field teams and safety personnel to promote safety.
• Maintain safety records and audit-ready documentation.
• Suggest improvements based on safety data trends.
