Job description

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator (3rd Shift) to join our growing team.

Summary

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Coordinator (3rd Shift) will assist with the site environmental, health and safety initiatives. They will assist the site EH&S Manager with establishing site specific policies and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and JELD-WEN Global EH&S requirements, prevent injuries & illnesses, and help create a strong EH&S culture.

Responsibilities

  • Train employees to recognize hazards and risks and lead the line organization in identifying and controlling hazards and risks.
  • Conduct environmental, health, and safety inspections.
  • Manage emergency procedures and conduct drills.
  • Conduct monthly safety trainings such as Life Critical Safety Rules, forklift, MEWP, etc.
  • Provide first aid to employees.
  • Assist with workers compensation claims.
  • Send nightly reporting to EHS Manager or designee.
  • Ensure employees are wearing the appropriate PPE for the task.
  • Assist in incident investigations and develop corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A strong understanding of JELD-WEN’s Life Critical Safety Rules.
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer basics.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills to analyze safety and health data.
