POSITION SUMMARY:
The Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Safety Manager as well as the senior management team along with the Project Manager of a given project. The position encompasses a variety of responsibilities relating to project management, strategic planning, and client customer service.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAFETY COORDINATOR
- Develop A/Z's project-specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Conduct regular (daily) job site and work area inspections and safety observations on specific projects, with some overnight travel outside the region.
- Provide project-specific training based on audits.
- Develop and review subcontractors' project-specific plans for high-risk activities like Confined Space Entry and other critical tasks to ensure safety compliance.
- Provide daily safety reports using Predictive Solutions software; attend project meetings as needed.
- Provide safety training to site personnel to ensure compliance with A/Z and contract requirements.
- Review subcontractors' Health and Safety Plans and Job Hazard Analyses for conformance with policies and contracts.
- Identify potential health and safety issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, personnel, and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain good relationships with client EH&S representatives.
- Maintain excellent organizational and writing skills.
- Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate construction sites is required.
- Work may involve exposure to confined spaces, moving mechanical parts, and weather conditions.
- Knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations is essential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
