Job summary

Global Roofing Group is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead safety programs across commercial roofing projects. You will coordinate safety activities with project teams, conduct hazard reviews, and drive incident investigations to closure. The role requires field leadership, strong communication, and the ability to train employees and subcontractors.

Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 DOE, with employer-sponsored healthcare options and additional benefits. Some travel to the St.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification (required).
• Reliable vehicle for travel to project site in New Florence, MO (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
• First Aid/CPR Certified
• BCSP, CHST, OHST, CSP or similar professional certification (preferred).
• OSHA 510 Construction certification (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience planning and implementing direct controls for high energy hazard
• Demonstrated competency in high-risk look-ahead planning
• Experience in safety coordination and training, preferably in construction or roofing
• Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigation, determine root cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices, especially in fall protection, rigging, hazard communication, and heavy equipment
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software
• Experience supervising and coordinating multiple Safety Professionals as staffing scales

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA standards across all sites.
• Lead incident investigations and manage corrective action closure.
• Coordinate safety activities across crews, shifts, and workfaces.
• Develop and maintain Site Specific Safety Plans and risk assessments.
• Deliver safety training for employees and contractors and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards, including OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the specific Safety Plan and required risk assessments
• Lead daily/weekly high-energy hazard reviews and direct-control planning
• Coordinate safety activities across all crews, shifts, and workfaces
• Lead incident investigations and manage corrective action closure
• Supervise assigned Operational Safety Managers and Safety Professionals
• Interface regarding compliance, reporting, and risk mitigation expectations
• Review and approve safety documentation, permits, and pre-task planning
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the commercial roofing industry
• Coordinate and deliver safety training for employees and contractors, including new hire orientation and ongoing certification programs
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and document findings using company applications
• Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other communication initiatives to promote safety awareness and engagement
• Maintain accurate records of safety data, including incident reports, training records, and safety performance metrics
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents such as falls, fires, severe weather, and chemical spills
• Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging employee participation and recognition in safety-related activities
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including Site Specific Safety Plans, Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA), toolbox talks, stand-downs, and corrective action plans
