Job summary

National Safety Consulting seeks a qualified Safety Professional to support client operations in the St. Louis, Missouri area. The role provides onsite safety oversight, conducts inspections, and helps manage hazard controls with project teams.

Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard recognition, and field-level safety management is required. The position involves reporting to project management, working with supervision and field personnel to maintain safe, compliant operations on active

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• One of ASP, CSP, or CHST BCSP certifications required.
• Experience in construction safety and strong OSHA knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite safety oversight and support for construction operations.
• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and observations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and communicate corrective actions to project leadership.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety programs, and project-specific requirements.
• Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
• Conduct and/or assist with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Review work activities, JHAs/JSA documentation, and other safety-related documentation as required.
• Maintain accurate safety reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field employees.
• Serve as a safety resource to help proactively identify and address hazards before incidents occur.

Minimum Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Must hold at least one of the following BCSP certifications:
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
• Previous construction safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and industry best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with employees at all levels of a project.
• Ability to perform field inspections in active construction environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, or heavy construction projects.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and safety training.
• Experience working directly with general contractors, subcontractors, and project owners.
