Ambiris Recruitment is seeking a Director of Safety based in Denver, CO to establish and enforce safety policies across regional job sites. This hands-on leadership role requires managing scalable safety frameworks across multiple states, with a focus on elevated roof work.

You will oversee safety audits, incident investigations, training programs, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA) to protect workers and ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Location-based in Denver, CO with willingness to travel across multi-state sites.
  • 7–10+ years of dedicated safety management in commercial roofing/construction.
  • Experience managing safety protocols across multi-site, multi-state footprints.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety/Construction or related field plus CSP/CHST/ASP/OSHA 500 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Direct safety culture and compliance across regional sites from Denver HQ.
  • Enforce fall protection, high-angle work, and roofing safety standards.
  • Maintain OSHA/DOT/EPA regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections; implement corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and workers' comp processes.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and toolbox talks.
  • Track TRIR/EMR/DART and report to executives.

About the Role

The Director of Safety will establish, modernize, and enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance across all regional job sites. Based out of Denver, this strategic leadership role requires a hands-on safety executive capable of managing scalable safety frameworks across multiple state jurisdictions. Because a core focus of operations involves elevated roof work, extensive direct experience in commercial roofing and high-angle fall protection is strictly required.

Responsibilities
  • Multi-Site & Multi-State Leadership: Direct, standardize, and oversee safety culture and compliance across regional commercial project locations from the Denver headquarters.
  • Commercial Roofing & Elevated Safety: Enforce strict fall protection, high-angle work, hazard identification, flat/low-slope membrane safety, and commercial roofing standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
  • Audits & Field Inspections: Conduct regular scheduled and unannounced site safety audits across job sites; implement corrective action plans for observed hazards.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Lead root-cause analyses, manage incident reporting, and oversee workers' compensation processes to mitigate risk.
  • EHS Training Programs: Develop and execute safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding programs for field crews and site supervisors.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Track key safety metrics (TRIR, EMR, DART) and deliver regular reporting to executive leadership.
Qualifications
  • Location & Mobility: Based in or willing to relocate to the Denver, CO area, with the willingness and ability to travel frequently across multi-state job sites.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 7-10+ years of dedicated safety management experience in commercial roofing and commercial construction.
  • Multi-State Operations: Proven track record of managing safety protocols across a multi-site, multi-state footprint.
  • Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent field experience), plus at least one of the following certifications:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • OSHA 500 / Authorized Construction Trainer
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of OSHA Construction Industry Regulations (29 CFR 1926), specifically Subpart M (Fall Protection), low-slope/flat roof safety, and scaffolding/ladder standards.
