Job summary

Boscov's Department Store, LLC is seeking a Safety Coordinator to create and maintain a safe workplace. You will lead inspections, incident investigations, and safety training while supporting HR activities such as onboarding and associate needs.

This Full-Time role requires 2–3 years in safety with HR support, supervisory experience, and solid knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations. You will partner with teams across the store to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a safety-related role with HR support.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA and other local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, follow-up, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
• Identify potential hazards, perform job hazard analyses, and implement corrective actions or temporary precautions.
• Deliver new hire safety orientations, safety training sessions, and toolbox talks.
• Partner with the Fleet team to emphasize accident prevention and ongoing driver safety training.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety training, and accident reports.
• Develop and implement emergency response procedures and drills.
• Assist with recruiting efforts and support new hire orientation and training.
• Provide general HR support to Spanish-speaking associates.

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our team.

In this role, you will drive a safe work environment through regular inspections, hazard identification, training, and incident investigation, while also supporting the Human Resources team with recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day associate needs.
