Job summary

Onni Properties, LLC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead safety programs, conduct inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance across construction sites. You will support teams, document plans, and drive corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.

The role emphasizes on-site leadership, accident investigations, planning of safety trainings, and coordination with contractors to meet OSHA/CALOSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in accredited college in occupational health and safety preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English (Spanish a plus).
• CPR and First Aid certified; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Strong documentation capacity with ability to meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be organized and have strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with safety and health inspections and verifying corrective action taken.
• Assists in the investigation of all injuries and accidents to determine cause and corrective action.
• Reviews all accident investigations to determine corrective action and verify action taken.
• Arranges all applicable management and supervisory training per the Accident Prevention Program.
• Maintains a company commitment to accident prevention by expecting safe conduct.
• Assigns responsibility to all levels of management and employees and holds them accountable.
• Consistently enforces all company safety rules, regulations and policies.
• Documents daily safety walks.
• Liaises with colleagues and clients on safety plans, hazard assessments, and audits.
• Determines compliance with OSHA/CALOSHA and Onni requirements and standards.
• Recommends corrective measures and follows through on implementation.
• Assists with new employee orientation training.
• Prepares and updates the emergency response plan as necessary.
• Ensures OSHA/CALOSHA postings are kept up to date.
• Prepares weekly safety topics and documents weekly meetings.
• Orders safety equipment and distributes supplies as needed.
• Acts as a leader in company safety policy and leads by example.
• Coaches site personnel to achieve a safe workplace.
• Maintains records and site inspection reports for OSHA/CALOSHA.

What Will You Do?

• Assists with safety and health inspections and verifying that corrective action has been taken regarding hazards.
• Assists in the investigation of all injuries and accidents to determine their cause and potential corrective action according to jurisdictional requirements.
• Reviews all accident investigations to determine corrective action and verify that corrective action has been taken according to jurisdictional requirements.
• Arranges all applicable management and supervisory training as required by the Accident Prevention Program
• Maintains a company commitment to accident prevention by expecting safe conduct on the part of all managers, supervisors and employees.
• Assigns responsibility to all levels of management, supervision and employees, and holding them accountable for accident prevention and safety.
• Consistently and fairly enforcing all company safety rules, regulations and policies.
• Documents daily safety walks.
• Liaises with colleagues and clients on the successful development of appropriate safety plans, hazard assessments, risk registries/critical risk protocols and audits.
• Determines compliance with legislation and relevant additional standards, policies and procedures
• Recommends corrective measures and follows through on their implementation
• Assists with new employee orientation training.
• Prepares and updates the emergency response plan as necessary.
• Ensures records and postings required by OSHA/CALOSHA are kept up to date.
• Prepares weekly safety topics and ensures the weekly meetings are documented.
• Orders safety equipment, safety supplies and first aid supply and distributes as needed.
• Acts as a leader in company safety policy and sets a good example for all supervisors and employees.
• Ensures that contractors and sub trades remain in compliance by maintaining their safe work practices to comply with OSHA/ CALOSHA and Onni requirements and standards
• Coaches and assists site personal to achieve a safe workplace.
• Assists in the centralization of all site inspections, weekly reports, and OSHA/ CALOSHA reports.
• Ensures all records are complete and in conformance with OSHA/ CALOSHA requirements.
• Reviews of critical hoisting and large equipment placement.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You Bring
