Job summary

Onni Contracting (California) Inc is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and on-site leadership on Los Angeles projects. This role involves assisting with inspections, incident investigations, and safety training planning.

You will help enforce safety rules, maintain records, and coordinate training while collaborating with site teams to uphold a culture of safety on all job sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in accredited college with a major in occupational health and safety, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English (Spanish is a plus).
• CPR and First Aid Certified, OSHA 30, preferred
• Strong documentation capacity with the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be organized and have strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with safety and health inspections and verifies corrective actions.
• Investigates injuries and accidents to determine cause and corrective actions.
• Reviews accident investigations to ensure proper corrective actions are taken.
• Arranges required safety training for management and staff.
• Maintains company commitment to accident prevention and safe conduct by all levels of staff.
• Enforces safety rules and documents daily safety walks.
• Liaises with colleagues and clients to develop safety plans and audits.
• Ensures OSHA/CALOSHA records and postings are up to date.
• Prepares and updates emergency response plans as needed.
• Orders safety equipment and supplies and distributes as needed.
