Job description

Assist Site Management in the planning, implementation, and coordination of EHS programs through the application of sound EHS principles and problem-solving skills, to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Ability to comprehend and interpret regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, DEP).
  2. Maintain site OSHA-required recordkeeping.
  3. Implement and maintain site Behavior Based Auditing program (BBS).
  4. Lead accident and near-miss investigations, evaluate root causes, and make recommendations for prevention based on best practices.
  5. Assist in implementing best practices under the guidance of the corporate EHS team.
  6. Perform safety compliance audits, identify problem areas, and recommend corrective actions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  7. Establish strong working relationships with production, support staff, and relevant managers.
  8. Assist with facility environmental programs related to waste minimization, recycling, residual waste, universal waste, and wastewater.
  9. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data on occupational illnesses and incidents.
  10. Ensure all employees receive necessary safety training, including managers on relevant programs.
  11. Conduct new-hire orientations and regulatory EHS training.
  12. Maintain, update, and manage all Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
  13. Oversee EHS capital projects.
  14. Communicate and implement EHS best practices across the site.
  15. Perform and prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: BS/BA in Occupational Health & Safety or a related technical field (environmental, chemistry, biology, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years related experience.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, and Outlook.
  • Other Requirements: Strong communication skills, hands-on and self-motivated, ability to manage multiple projects, good technical and project management skills, decision-making ability, and problem-solving skills.

Our compensation ranges from $68,200 to $90,400 annually, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits, depending on location and experience.
