Job summary

Johnston & Associates, a safety and risk management consultancy in Thompsons Station, TN, is seeking a Safety Consultant. This role involves training and improving client safety programs, promoting a zero-injury culture, and nationwide overnight travel to client locations to present and motivate teams.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and about 5 years in risk management or safety consulting, with strong communication, public speaking, and training skills.

We have been in business for over 36 years and continue to grow. We are currently looking to fill a position of Safety Consultant. This position is responsible for training and improving client programs in safety, risk management, accident prevention, industrial hygiene, OSHA compliance, DOT compliance, emergency preparedness and providing extensive support to make a material difference for our clients. We are seeking an individual that has a passion for communicating with clients and helping them to decrease injuries within their company.

Requirements:

• Successful track record in risk management as operations manager or safety/EHS manager.
• Experience in the Trucking or Construction Industry is preferred
• Maturity and professionalism
• Independence and reliability
• High energy and enthusiasm to motivate others
• Strong written and verbal (including public speaking) communication skills are necessary.
• Knowledge and experience in training and handling OSHA compliance.
• DOT knowledge and experience desired.
• Strong, collaborative, energetic individual with a deep personal commitment to the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to develop relationships and become trusted partners with diverse clients while always using impeccable judgement.
• Capability to become a trusted advisor and partner with the customer.
• Requires nationwide overnight travel to client locations.

This position offers the opportunity to make a material difference in helping clients develop behavioral safety systems to create a zero-injury culture. This position also requires overnight travel nationwide to our clients' locations to present and motivate front line employees as well as executives on our Behavioral Based Safety systems.
