Job summary

U.S. Multimodal Group in Memphis, TN seeks a Director of Safety to shape the safety program for Trans One and elevate national safety leadership across operations and drivers.

You will manage telematics, onboarding, audits, investigations and training, partnering with operations and the Talent team to foster a culture of safe performance and compliant, efficient transportation services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in safety leadership within transportation or related field.
• Knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with DOT drug/alcohol programs and daily safety operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to design and deliver effective safety training programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drivers follow local, state and federal safety laws daily.
• Oversee telematics systems including ELDs, hours of service, tablets, and cameras; provide updates to Safety leadership.
• Manage enrollment in Drug and Alcohol program and random testing.
• Maintain Driver Qualification and DVIR files for DOT compliance.
• Collaborate with Talent and Operations on driver onboarding and pre-employment checks.
• Develop and sustain a positive safety culture; document coaching and corrective actions.
• Support insurance and CSA reporting; assist with audits and investigations.
