Job summary

Temperature Equipment Corporation (TEC/NEC) seeks a Safety Specialist based in Lansing, IL, to design, implement and manage HSE programs. The role entails leading safety meetings, risk assessments, incident investigations, and policy maintenance across sites in multiple states.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in OH&S or related field with 1–3 years of multi-site safety experience, strong OSHA knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred; in lieu of degree, substantial relevant experience.
• 1–3 years in a safety role with multi-site and multi-state responsibility, emphasis on OSHA compliance, risk mitigation, and training program development in a warehouse distribution center.
• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and safety codes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lead and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop & execute H&S strategies aligned with company objectives and industry best practices.
• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of H&S policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Administer and maintain company random drug/alcohol testing through JJ Keller.
• Perform regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on safety inspections, audits, training activities, and incidents.
• Stay up to date with the latest OSHA regulations and industry best practices and incorporate them into the company's safety programs.
• Actively schedule and conduct safety meetings and training across all company locations to communicate HSE policies, procedures, goals, and expectations.
• Update and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated effectively across the organization.
